RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare journal entries and review accounting classifications in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Senior Accountant will be responsible for posting and reviewing payroll expenses, professional services, internet expense, telephone expense, etc.
  • Deferred rent and ability to lean Visual Lease software quickly
  • Responsible for month end close for assigned functions
  • Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts 
  • Review P&L and Balance Sheet accounts for accuracy
  • Participate in monthly financial reviews and provide explanations for variance inquiries
  • First level of review for specific balance sheet reconciliations completed by other team members
  • Seek to improve processes as needed
  • Calculate and post compensation related accruals for PTO, salaries, OT, taxes, training, bonus, etc.
  • Calculate quarterly bonuses.
  • Ad hoc requests as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • At least three years of relevant accounting experience working with a fully integrated accounting system
  • Healthcare experience preferred 
  • Understanding of the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, & Statement of Cash Flow
  • Advanced MS Excel skills required; experience with Great Plains software is preferred
  • Experience with Dayforce
  • Knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Experience with year-end audit preparation
